The DICOTA Stand-alone Pro Key notebook security lock (D30867) secures laptops, projectors, printers and monitors using an integrated rubber bumper that fits most standard lock slots. The lock features a 2.0 m steel cable with a 5.2 mm diameter for extended reach and increased strength, a rotatable and tiltable lockhead, and comes with two flat keys. This standalone lock cannot be connected to a master lock system.

How to use

Thread the cable around a fixed, immovable object and insert the lock head into the device's standard security slot until it engages. Use the push-to-lock function to secure without key when applicable or insert the flat key and turn to lock. Keep the spare key in a safe place. To unlock, insert the key and turn, or follow the reverse procedure of the push-to-lock mechanism.

Recommendations

For optimal security, attach the cable to a heavy, immovable anchor point and check that the rubber bumper sits flush against the device case. Regularly inspect the cable and lock head for wear and replace the lock if any damage is found. Note that this standalone lock is not suitable for integration into centralized locking systems.
