Novoflex NEX/OM camera lens adapter

The Novoflex NEX/OM camera lens adapter enables the use of Olympus OM lenses on Sony NEX mirrorless cameras, providing a simple mechanical coupling between legacy manual-focus optics and modern camera bodies. Constructed in a robust black finish, the adapter preserves the optical alignment and flange distance required for accurate focus and image reproduction while offering a stable mount for vintage lenses.

Advantages

The adapter offers a precise metal-to-metal connection that minimizes play and ensures repeatable mounting. Its construction is designed to preserve the original lens optical performance and maintain consistent flange focal distance, which supports accurate focusing across the focusing range. The compact, low-profile design adds minimal extension to the lens system and withstands regular use thanks to durable materials and finish.

Suitable for

• Photographers who want to use Olympus OM manual-focus lenses on Sony NEX/α mirrorless cameras
• Owners of vintage OM glass seeking to extend lens options on modern bodies
• Studio and location shooters who require stable mechanical adapters for manual focusing
• Educational and experimental photography with adapted optics

Key specifications

• Mount compatibility: Olympus OM lens mount to Sony NEX/α (E-mount) camera bodies
• Material: metal construction with durable black finish
• Type: passive mechanical adapter (no electronic contacts)
• Focus support: manual focus only; supports full infinity focus when correctly mounted
• Dimensions: compact, low-profile design that minimizes added length to the lens setup
• Weight: lightweight for handheld use while providing a solid mounting interface

How to use

Mount the Novoflex NEX/OM adapter by aligning the adapter’s OM-side indexing mark with the corresponding mark on the Olympus lens and rotating until it locks into place. Attach the adapter-lens assembly to the Sony NEX camera by aligning the adapter’s E-mount index with the camera’s mount and turning until it clicks. Set the camera to allow manual lenses (if applicable) and select a suitable exposure mode; manual focus and aperture control are performed on the lens itself. Verify infinity focus by testing distant subjects and make any necessary micro-adjustments using the lens focus ring.

Recommendations

For best results, use lenses that are in good mechanical condition and clean optical state. When shooting hand-held, support longer or heavier lenses with a strap or tripod to reduce stress on the camera mount. If your camera offers focus magnification or focus peaking, enable these features to assist with accurate manual focusing when using adapted Olympus OM lenses on Sony NEX bodies.
