Olympia A 6040 Cold/Heat Laminator

The Olympia A 6040 is a cold/hot laminator designed for small offices, print shops and home use. It supports lamination of up to 46 cm width and combines a cold mode for heat-sensitive materials with a hot mode for standard laminating films. The unit reaches operating temperature quickly with an approximate 8-minute preheating time and runs at a laminating speed of about 400 mm/min. Compact dimensions (718 mm × 230 mm × 145 mm) and a weight of 10.8 kg make it simple to place on a desk or shelf while remaining easy to move when needed.

Advantages

The Olympia A 6040 offers flexible use thanks to both cold and hot laminating options, allowing protection of heat-sensitive items as well as durable lamination with thermal pouches. Fast preheat and a steady laminating speed enable efficient processing of individual documents and small batches. Its compact footprint and neutral grey/white colour integrate well into most workspaces without occupying excessive space.

How to use

Select the appropriate mode for your material (cold for heat-sensitive items, hot for standard laminating pouches) and switch the machine on. Allow the laminator to preheat when using hot mode—typically around 8 minutes—until the ready indicator is shown. Align the document inside a compatible laminating pouch, then feed it into the machine straight and centred. Guide the pouch gently as the rollers pull it through at the rated speed. After lamination, allow the pouch to cool flat to avoid warping; for cold lamination, follow the pouch manufacturer’s instructions for pressure and application.

Recommendations

Use laminating pouches or films compatible with the stated maximum width and with thickness suitable for the chosen mode. For best results with hot lamination, use pouches rated for thermal use and allow the laminated item to cool on a flat surface. For heat-sensitive originals, use the cold lamination mode and ensure the pouch adhesive is appropriate for the material. Keep the feed path clear and avoid forcing oversized items into the machine to prevent jams and maintain consistent results.
