Rebir IE-5708M Power Hand Planer

The Power Hand Planer Rebir IE-5708M is a corded electric planer designed for woodworking tasks that require precise material removal and smooth surface finishing. Equipped with a 2250 W motor, this model delivers high cutting power for efficient planing, offering a maximum planing depth of 3.5 mm and a planing width of 155 mm. The tool also supports a rebating (grooving) depth up to 17 mm, enabling steps, rabbets and edge work. With an AC input voltage of 230 V and a compact body in blue and grey, the IE-5708M is intended for workshop and on-site use where steady power and consistent results are required.

Advantages

The 2250 W motor provides sustained torque for cutting through hardwoods and larger material sections while maintaining a stable rotation speed for uniform surface finish. The 155 mm planing width allows coverage of wider boards in fewer passes, increasing productivity. The adjustable maximum depth of 3.5 mm and the 17 mm rebating capability give flexibility for both finishing passes and deeper stock removal. Designed and manufactured in Latvia, the device combines a compact form factor with professional-level technical characteristics and a user-oriented design in blue and grey.

Suitable for

• Trimming and smoothing wooden boards and panels
• Creating rebates, grooves and steps for joinery
• Surface leveling before finishing or painting
• On-site carpentry and furniture repair work

Key specifications

• Motor power: 2250 W for high cutting performance
• Maximum planing depth: 3.5 mm for material removal control
• Planing width: 155 mm to cover wider workpieces
• Rebating depth: up to 17 mm for groove and rabbet work
• Input voltage: 230 V AC suitable for standard mains supply
• Color: blue and grey compact housing

How to use

Ensure the planer is connected to a stable 230 V supply and that the workpiece is securely clamped. Adjust the cutting depth according to the task, starting with a shallow pass to check blade alignment and finish. Feed the planer steadily along the grain at consistent speed to avoid tear-out and obtain a smooth surface. For rebating, set the tool to the required depth and make incremental passes until the desired groove depth is reached. Follow the manufacturer's safety guidance for blade handling and always use appropriate eye and hearing protection.

Recommendations

Use sharp, compatible blades and perform a test pass on scrap material before working on the final piece. When removing larger amounts of material, make multiple shallow passes rather than a single deep cut to reduce strain on the motor and improve surface quality. Maintain the planer by keeping the sole plate clean and checking blade sharpness regularly.
