Secomp Parallel Cable 12.02.1074 Black 1.8m

The Secomp 12.02.1074 Black 1.8m is a parallel data cable designed to connect devices that use a DB25 parallel interface to a USB-B port. With a 1.8 meter length and a black outer jacket, this cable provides a straightforward physical link for printers, scanners and other legacy or industrial equipment that require parallel communication through modern USB hosts. The cable is lightweight and intended for routine desktop and light professional use where a stable wired connection is preferred.

Advantages

This parallel cable combines a DB25 connector with a USB-B plug to bridge older parallel interfaces and contemporary USB ports without requiring internal modifications. The 1.8 m length offers flexibility for typical desktop layouts while minimizing cable clutter. The black sheath provides discreet appearance and basic protection against wear. The cable’s construction aims for consistent signal transmission and simple plug-and-play connection when supported by the host system and device drivers.

Suitable for

• Connecting parallel-port printers to computers with USB ports
• Linking scanners or measuring instruments that use DB25 parallel interfaces
• Temporary or permanent desk installations where 1.8 m cable length is appropriate
• Environments where a wired connection is required for reliability or security

Key specifications

• Cable length: 1.8 m
• Connector A: DB25 (25-pin parallel male/female contact as used by device)
• Connector B: USB Type B
• Colour: Black
• Weight: approximately 210 g

How to use

Identify the correct orientation of the DB25 connector and the USB-B plug, then insert each end into the corresponding device ports — DB25 to the parallel device and USB-B to the host or hub. If the connected computer requires drivers or adapter software to support parallel-to-USB communication, install the appropriate driver before use. After connection and driver readiness, power the devices and verify communication through the device status or operating system printer/scanner settings.

Recommendations

For reliable long-term operation, avoid sharp bends near the connectors and maintain a gentle loop radius for the cable. Use the cable in environments free from excessive moisture, vibration or electromagnetic interference. If a device does not respond after connection, confirm driver compatibility and check that the DB25 wiring matches the device’s expected pinout.
