Rothenberger 72433 Drain Cleaning Auger

The Rothenberger 72433 drain auger is a compact mechanical tool designed for clearing blocked drains and siphons. Manufactured in Hungary, this device combines a durable construction with a manageable size (package dimensions 530 mm x 160 mm x 190 mm) to provide reliable performance for routine maintenance and unclogging tasks. The auger is intended to reach and remove obstructions from household and light-commercial waste pipes where manual or powered alternatives are impractical.

Advantages

The tool offers a balance of durability and portability, allowing users to transport and store it easily while retaining robust components suited to repeated use. Its compact package size makes handling in tight spaces more convenient compared with larger cable machines. The straightforward design reduces setup time and the need for additional accessories, supporting efficient use by both professional plumbers and DIY users.

Suitable for

• Unclogging sinks, washbasins and bathroom drains
• Clearing blockages in kitchen waste pipes and traps
• Maintenance work in residential and small commercial plumbing
• On-site service calls where a compact manual tool is preferred

Key specifications

• Product type: manual drain auger for domestic and light-commercial drains
• Packaging dimensions: 530 mm x 160 mm x 190 mm
• Construction: durable metal and polymer components suitable for repeated use
• Weight category: lightweight and portable for single-person handling
• Intended use: mechanical removal of pipe obstructions and debris

How to use

Insert the auger cable or head into the drain opening and advance it gently until resistance indicates contact with the obstruction. Rotate or crank the tool according to its mechanical design to engage and break up or hook the clog, then retract the cable to extract debris. After clearing the blockage, run water to verify flow restoration and flush any remaining residue. Clean the auger after use and store it in a dry place to prevent corrosion and maintain readiness.

Recommendations

Use appropriate personal protective equipment such as gloves and eye protection. Avoid forcing the auger with excessive pressure to prevent damage to fragile pipe materials. For persistent or deep-seated blockages in larger-diameter or long-run commercial systems, consider using powered drain cleaning equipment or consulting a professional plumber.
