ShiverPeaks BS08-42012 Networking Cable

The ShiverPeaks BS08-42012 is a 0.5 m Cat8.1 networking cable with U/FTP (STP) shielding and gold‑plated RJ‑45 connectors. Designed for short‑run high‑speed connections, this cable supports data transfer rates up to 40000 Mbit/s and is intended for environments where signal integrity and reduced crosstalk are important. The compact length makes it suitable for patching between nearby devices, connecting switches and routers in racks, or linking high‑performance networking equipment in constrained spaces.

Advantages

U/FTP (shielded twisted pairs) construction provides improved protection against electromagnetic interference and crosstalk compared with unshielded cables. Gold‑plated RJ‑45 contacts enhance contact reliability and corrosion resistance for consistent signal transmission. The Cat8.1 standard supports very high bandwidth and low latency, suitable for modern server and data center connections. The short 0.5 m length reduces excess cable slack and helps maintain tidy installations.

Suitable for

• Short patch connections between switches, routers and servers
• Rack and cabinet networking where space is limited
• High‑speed LAN segments and data‑intensive applications
• Environments requiring improved shielding against interference

Key specifications

• Category: Cat8.1
• Shielding: U/FTP (overall braid with individually shielded pairs)
• Connector type: RJ‑45 with gold plating
• Length: 0.5 m
• Maximum data rate: up to 40000 Mbit/s

How to use

Connect one RJ‑45 plug to the network port of your switch, router or network interface and the other plug to the corresponding device port. Ensure connectors are fully inserted until they click to guarantee a secure physical and electrical connection. Use the cable for short interconnects within racks, between patch panels and equipment, or for direct device‑to‑device links where a 0.5 m length is appropriate. When routing the cable, avoid sharp bends and excessive mechanical stress on the connectors.

Recommendations

For optimal performance, use the cable in shielded installations and maintain proper grounding of associated equipment to ensure the shielding functions correctly. Avoid running the cable in parallel with high‑voltage power lines and keep bend radius above manufacturer recommendations to preserve signal integrity.
