Smart Home Hub ALLNET ALL3500

The ALLNET ALL3500 Smart Home Central Control Unit is an entry-level platform for home automation that combines wired and wireless connectivity with a GNU/Linux-based firmware. Based on the ALL5002 CPU board, the ALL3500 supports integration of additional ALLNET modules from the ALL3000/4000/5000 series and provides web and XML interfaces for remote access, configuration and integration into higher-level systems.

Advantages

The unit offers a compact, cost-effective design with four relay outputs, four sensor/actuator ports and four contact inputs. It supports access via Ethernet and built-in Wi‑Fi, and includes an XML interface for automated data retrieval and control. Modules connect over an I2C-like bus using standard RJ45/Cat5 cabling up to 100 m, with power supplied from the CPU board. A USB port allows integration of external radio technologies such as Plugwise and EnOcean.

Suitable for

• Temperature and humidity monitoring in HACCP and alarm scenarios
• Room climate control with heating and humidification control
• Gas, flood or smoke alarm detection and automated response
• Time- and humidity-controlled garden irrigation
• Consumption-based control using external power meters (e.g., ALL4950)
• Integration into SNMP- or XML-based monitoring systems

How to use

Install the ALL3500 in a networked location and connect it to your LAN via Ethernet or use the integrated Wi‑Fi. Attach sensors, actuators or modules to the four sensor ports and wire any external modules using standard RJ45/Cat5 cables (up to 100 m). Use the web interface to read values, configure settings and operate relays manually or by schedule. For automated integration, use the XML interface to retrieve measurement data and issue control commands from external software or monitoring systems.

Recommendations

Place the central unit in a dry, ventilated location with stable network access. Use quality Cat5/Cat5e cables for module connections and verify module placement within the 100 m cable limit. When integrating wireless sensors via USB, confirm compatibility (supported examples: Plugwise, EnOcean) and keep firmware updated for security and interoperability.
