StarTech DP2HDMM1MB DisplayPort to HDMI Cable

The StarTech DisplayPort to HDMI Cable DP2HDMM1MB is a 3 ft (1 m) passive adapter cable that connects a DisplayPort-equipped Ultrabook, laptop or desktop directly to an HDMI television, monitor or projector. It supports video resolutions up to Ultra HD 4K at 30 Hz, is backward compatible with lower resolutions, and features a latching DisplayPort connector for a secure connection without requiring external power.

Advantages

This compact cable eliminates the need for separate adapters or bulky converter dongles by providing a single direct connection from DisplayPort to HDMI. Its passive design requires no external power, and the 3 ft length reduces cable clutter for tidy installations. The cable supports 4K at 30 Hz and is backward compatible with 1080p and 720p displays. Certified with CE and RoHS, it is suitable for standard home and office use.

Suitable for

• Connecting DisplayPort-equipped laptops or desktops to HDMI TVs, monitors or projectors
• Small or tidy workstation setups where a 1 m cable is sufficient
• Home entertainment systems and conference-room displays that accept HDMI input

How to use

Connect the DisplayPort end of the cable to the DisplayPort output on your computer and insert the HDMI end into the HDMI input of your display device. Ensure the DisplayPort connector latches if your port uses a locking mechanism. Power on both devices and select the appropriate HDMI input on the display. The passive cable is plug-and-play and typically does not require driver installation or an external power source.

Recommendations

For optimal performance, use the cable for single-monitor setups where 4K at 30 Hz meets your needs; for higher refresh rates at 4K or longer distances, consider active converters or longer certified cables such as the 6 ft option. Avoid excessive bending at the connectors and verify your source device supports DisplayPort to HDMI passive conversion.
