Steinel IS180digiHD motion sensor 180° detection angle, model 066109

Steinel IS180digiHD is a ceiling- or wall-mount motion sensor offering a 180° detection angle for reliable presence and motion detection in indoor or sheltered outdoor environments. Designed to trigger lighting and security systems, the sensor provides broad coverage for corridors, entrances and open spaces. Its detection geometry and adjustable settings enable automated control of connected luminaires and systems to improve convenience and energy efficiency.

Advantages

The IS180digiHD combines wide-angle detection with digital signal processing to reduce false triggers and ensure consistent performance across its coverage area. Adjustable sensitivity and time settings allow adaptation to specific installation conditions. Its compact design is suitable for discreet installation in residential, commercial or utility areas, and the unit is resistant to the environmental conditions typical of sheltered outdoor locations.

Suitable for

• Corridors and stairwells
• Entrance areas and foyers
• Garages and carports (sheltered)
• Utility rooms, storage areas and basements
• Automated lighting and security system activation

Key specifications

• Detection angle: 180°
• Mounting options: ceiling or wall
• Detection type: passive motion detection for presence and movement
• Adjustable sensitivity and time delay settings
• Designed for indoor and sheltered outdoor use

How to use

Install the sensor on a stable surface at the recommended mounting height and orientation to achieve the intended 180° coverage. Connect the device to the lighting or control circuit following the installation instructions supplied by the manufacturer and ensure power is isolated during wiring. After power-up, adjust sensitivity and time delay to match traffic patterns and ambient conditions so that lights or systems are activated as needed and remain off when spaces are unoccupied.

Recommendations

Position the unit to avoid direct sunlight or heat sources within the detection field, and test detection at different distances and angles after installation. Use lower sensitivity in areas with frequent irrelevant movement (e.g., close to HVAC outlets) and longer time delays in locations where brief absence should not switch off critical lighting.
