Supermicro AS-2015A-TR Rack Computer Case (2U) Black

The Supermicro AS-2015A-TR Rack (2U) Black is a 2U rackmount server barebone designed for compact, high-density server deployments. Built around an AMD B650 chipset and Socket AM5, the chassis supports DDR5-SDRAM modules up to 192 GB with up to 5200 MHz memory speed. Storage flexibility is provided through bays for 3.5" HDD and SSD drives. Network connectivity is handled by an integrated Intel I210 LAN controller supporting Fast and Gigabit Ethernet at 10/100/1000 Mbit/s. The unit ships in a black steel chassis with front-accessible USB ports and an internal power supply to suit rack-based environments.

Advantages

The barebone offers a compact 2U form factor that balances processing capability and rack density, enabling deployment in standard server racks. Support for Socket AM5 and the AMD B650 chipset allows use of modern processors while DDR5 support ensures higher memory bandwidth and capacity for demanding workloads. Integrated Gigabit Ethernet via the Intel I210 provides reliable network performance, and internal 3.5" drive accommodation supports a mix of high-capacity HDDs and faster SSDs. Front USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports simplify local maintenance and peripheral connection.

Suitable for

• Small to medium business rack servers and virtualization hosts
• Database and storage servers that require 3.5" drive support
• Edge computing and network appliances in constrained rack spaces
• Workloads that benefit from DDR5 memory and modern AM5 CPUs

How to use

Install the AS-2015A-TR into a standard 19-inch server rack occupying 2U of space. Mount a compatible Socket AM5 CPU and DDR5 memory modules according to motherboard documentation, and secure 3.5" storage drives in the provided bays. Connect power to the internal 800 W supply and attach network cabling to the onboard Intel I210 Ethernet ports. Use the front USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports for initial system setup, operating system installation and local maintenance. Follow standard rack safety procedures when racking and servicing the unit.

Recommendations

For best results, pair the chassis with CPUs and memory modules validated for Socket AM5 and DDR5 operation, and use enterprise-grade 3.5" drives or SSDs matched to your performance and capacity needs. Ensure adequate rack airflow and cooling when deploying multiple 2U systems, and verify power budget and redundancy in multi-unit installations.
