Taiwan Semiconductor TSC - Thermal Printhead Module

For high-volume industrial barcode printing where downtime is not an option, the TAIWAN SEMICONDUCTOR 98-0410061-01LF thermal printhead module delivers dependable 203 dpi output across a full 104 mm width. Unlike generic printheads that wear quickly under continuous duty, this unit is built on a ceramic substrate with an abrasion-resistant coating, rated for 50 km of media travel and 100 million pulses. It is the same printhead family used in TSC Auto ID industrial printers such as the TTP-244 Pro and TE200 series, ensuring exact mechanical and electrical compatibility without firmware workarounds.

Highlights

• Direct thermal and thermal transfer capable for flexible media handling
• Flat head design with 832 dots per line at 8 dots/mm element density
• Supports print speeds up to 254 mm/s (10 ips) for fast label throughput
• 40-pin FPC connector for secure, drop-in replacement
• Operating voltage 24 V DC with typical heating element resistance of 1500 Ω
• Wide operating temperature range from 0°C to 50°C

In daily use

This printhead is intended for service technicians and maintenance teams who need to restore a TSC industrial printer to factory print quality. Installation requires no special tools beyond a clean workspace and careful handling of the FPC connector. Once fitted, the printhead produces crisp barcodes, small text, and graphics on labels, tags, and receipts. The ceramic substrate ensures stable thermal response across long runs, while the protective coating reduces wear from abrasive media. Users can expect consistent print density from the first label to the last, even in dusty or high-vibration environments.

Final note

When replacing a worn printhead, always verify the exact printer model and connector orientation. This module is a direct match for many TSC industrial printers, but confirmation against the printer's service manual is recommended before ordering.
