Targus DEFCON PA410ECCL Cable Lock

The Targus DEFCON PA410ECCL coiled cable lock secures laptops and protects data with a 1.8 m (6 ft) vinyl-coated, galvanized steel cable. The compact coiled design reduces bulk for travel and easy storage while providing cut-resistant protection. A user-settable 4-digit combination offers up to 10,000 possible settings and attaches to any standard laptop lock slot.

Advantages

The combination lock eliminates the need for keys and allows simple, personal code setup. The vinyl-coated steel cable resists cutting and prevents surface scratches on devices. Its coiled form factor keeps the cable compact when not in use and extends to reach a fixed anchor point when needed. Lightweight construction (approx. 0.2 kg) makes it convenient to carry in laptop bags.

Recommendations

Choose a solid anchor point that cannot be easily moved or cut. Regularly check the combination code and cable condition; replace the lock if the cable shows visible damage. Do not rely on the cable alone for protecting high-value items—use it as a deterrent and part of a broader security practice.
