Techly IDATA EXT-E71 AV Extender AV Transmitter & Receiver Black

The Techly IDATA-EXT-E71 AV transmitter & receiver provides a wired solution for transmitting HDMI signals up to Full HD (1920 x 1080) over standard Ethernet cabling. The kit includes a compact transmitter and receiver pair that connect via Cat5, Cat5e or Cat6 cable and support a maximum transfer distance of 120 m. Both units operate at 5V with a maximum consumption of 2W and are finished in black, making them suitable for discreet installation in AV racks, behind displays or in tight spaces.

Advantages

The IDATA-EXT-E71 offers a reliable Full HD extension over widely available Ethernet cabling without the need for costly fiber or long HDMI runs. Its small dimensions and light weight simplify placement near equipment or behind walls, while the low power draw reduces the need for additional power infrastructure. Compatibility with Cat5, Cat5e and Cat6 ensures flexible installation using existing cabling.

Suitable for

• Extending HDMI video and audio to remote displays in conference rooms
• Digital signage installations in retail or public spaces
• Connecting a source to a display across a long run in classrooms or meeting areas
• Home AV setups requiring discreet placement of transmitter and receiver units

How to use

Connect an HDMI source (such as a PC, media player or set-top box) to the transmitter's HDMI input and connect the receiver's HDMI output to the target display. Use a single Cat5/Cat5e/Cat6 cable between the transmitter and receiver, observing the maximum recommended distance of 120 m. Provide 5 V power to each unit as required by the installation. After connections are made, power on the source and display and verify signal presence and picture quality.

Recommendations

For best performance, use quality Cat5e or Cat6 cabling in good condition and avoid running the cable in parallel with high-voltage power lines. When longer runs approach the 120 m limit, test the installation for stable video and consider using shielded cable or improved connectors if interference is present. Ensure ventilation around each unit to prevent heat buildup in enclosed spaces.
