Terratec T5 DVB-T USB TV Tuner

The TERRATEC T5 is a compact DVB-T USB TV tuner stick that converts netbooks, laptops and desktop computers into a full-feature television with full HDTV support. It includes two receivers and Diversity functionality to improve signal quality in fringe reception areas and during travel. The device is powered via a USB 2.0 port and comes with software for Windows, a remote control and two DVB-T antennas.

Advantages

The dual-receiver design provides improved DVB-T reception by combining signals (Diversity) for better stability in weak-signal areas and can also enable reception while on the move when coverage permits. Both tuners can alternatively operate independently to allow simultaneous recording and viewing of different channels, plus Picture-in-Picture. The stick is compact, energy-efficient (USB-powered) and includes a remote control and antennas for immediate use.

• Users who want to watch DVB-T television on a netbook, laptop or desktop
• Recording one channel while watching another
• Use in fringe reception areas or when travelling where combined receivers improve signal
• Setups requiring a compact, USB-powered TV tuner with included remote and antennas

How to use

Plug the TERRATEC T5 into an available USB 2.0 port on your Windows computer, install the supplied software and connect the provided DVB-T antennas. Use the software or included remote control to scan for digital TV channels. Choose Diversity mode for improved reception in weak-signal areas or set the tuners to operate independently to record one channel while viewing another. Adjust antenna placement for optimal signal strength.

Recommendations

For best reception, place the included antennas near a window or elevated position and enable Diversity mode in the software when reception is poor. If you plan to record while viewing, confirm sufficient disk space and use the independent-tuner mode to avoid conflicts.
