Thermal Safety Switch for Bachmann Cable Drum Model 900.180

Thermal safety switch designed for Bachmann cable reel model 900.180. This replacement thermal protector restores the reel's built-in overheating protection by interrupting the electrical circuit when excessive temperature is detected. Intended for retrofit or repair of compatible 900.180 reels, the device helps reduce the risk of damage to wiring and connected equipment by providing automatic thermal disconnection before critical temperatures are reached.

Advantages

The thermal safety switch provides reliable thermal overload protection tailored for the specified cable reel type. It enables quick replacement or retrofit without modifying the main reel structure and ensures the reel returns to factory-like safety performance. The switch operates automatically and requires no user intervention during normal operation, contributing to safer handling of extension power cables and connected tools.

Suitable for

• Replacement of a failed thermal cut-out in compatible Bachmann 900.180 cable reels
• Retrofit installations to restore built-in thermal protection
• Maintenance tasks where restoring automatic overheating protection is required

Key specifications

• Function: automatic thermal cut-out that interrupts power on overheating
• Compatibility: designed to match physical and functional requirements of the specified reel model
• Operation: automatic reset or manual reset—refer to reel service instructions for reset behaviour
• Mounting: designed for in-reel installation with compatible mounting points and electrical contacts
• Safety role: prevents sustained overheating of cable and internal reel components to reduce fire and damage risk

How to use

Install the thermal safety switch as a replacement part in the compatible cable reel following the manufacturer's service instructions. Ensure the reel is disconnected from mains power before beginning work. Remove the reel cover or access panel, disconnect the defective thermal device from the internal wiring, and fit the replacement unit in the same orientation and connection points. Reassemble the reel and verify proper operation by powering the reel and confirming normal continuity under non-overload conditions. If the switch requires a specific reset action, follow the reel documentation or service manual for reset and test procedures.

Recommendations

Use only genuine or manufacturer-compatible replacement parts and follow safety procedures when servicing an electrical reel. If unsure about installation or the reel's reset behaviour, consult a qualified technician or the manufacturer's service documentation to ensure correct fitting and safe operation.
