Thicknessers for precise timber thickness
Thicknessers (thickness planers) are used to plane boards and workpieces to a uniform thickness and to prepare surfaces for joinery, furniture making, the workshop and renovation work.
What to look for
- Working width - choose one that suits the workpieces you machine most often.
- Power and feed rate - decisive for throughput, cut quality and load on the machine.
- Cutter system - straight knives and spiral or segmented cutterheads differ in maintenance and surface finish.
Wear eye, hearing and dust protection, connect dust extraction and never put your hands into the feed area. Follow the manufacturer's instructions.
