Trendnet TI-PG102 Unmanaged Switch

The TRENDnet TI-PG102 is an unmanaged 10-port Industrial Gigabit PoE+ DIN-rail switch designed for industrial networking. It provides eight Gigabit PoE+ ports with a total 240 W PoE power budget and two additional gigabit RJ-45/SFP shared uplink ports. Housed in an IP30-rated metal enclosure, the switch is built to withstand vibration and shock and to operate across a wide temperature range of -40° to 75°C (-40° to 167°F). The TI-PG102 supports Gigabit Ethernet speeds, a 20 Gbit/s switching capacity and a 16,000-entry MAC address table, and accepts a DC input voltage of 48–56 V.

Advantages

The switch delivers PoE+ power to up to eight devices from a single 240 W budget, simplifying installations of IP cameras, access points, and other PoE devices. Its unmanaged design requires no configuration while providing reliable Gigabit throughput and industry-standard interoperability. The rugged IP30 metal housing, wide operating temperature range, and dual redundant power inputs with an output alarm relay increase fault tolerance and suitability for harsh environments.

Suitable for

• Industrial and factory network segments requiring PoE-powered devices
• IP camera deployments and video surveillance systems
• Wireless access point backhaul in industrial or outdoor-adjacent sites
• Network extension where two gigabit uplinks (RJ-45/SFP) are needed

How to use

Mount the TI-PG102 on a DIN rail or wall surface in a well-ventilated location and connect the DC power sources to the redundant power inputs according to the installation guide. Connect PoE devices (cameras, wireless APs, VoIP phones) to the eight PoE+ ports and use the two shared RJ-45/SFP ports for uplink or fibre connections as required. The unmanaged switch is plug-and-play with no additional configuration needed; confirm device PoE class and total power draw to ensure the 240 W budget is not exceeded.

Recommendations

For reliable operation in industrial environments, use appropriately rated DC power supplies within the 48–56 V range, verify cable quality for Gigabit and PoE transmission, and balance PoE device placement to avoid exceeding the 240 W total power budget. Regularly inspect mounting and cabling for signs of wear in high-vibration settings.
