VivoLink PROKEYUSB3AFM2W USB 3.0 Type-A Socket to Type-A Socket Adapter Cable, White

VivoLink PROKEYUSB3AFM2W is a white USB 3.0 Type-A female to Type-A female adapter cable that allows extension or joining of standard USB 3.0 Type-A connections. Designed for temporary linking or extending USB cables, it supports USB 3.0 transfer rates up to 5 Gbps when used with compatible hosts, devices and cables. The compact, flexible design makes it convenient for home and office setups where a short, reliable connection between two USB Type-A cables or devices is needed.

Advantages

The adapter provides backward compatibility with USB 2.0 and USB 1.1 devices while enabling high-speed USB 3.0 transfers when all connected components support the standard. Its female-to-female configuration is useful for joining two Type-A cables or connecting devices where a straight extension is required. The white jacket and compact length reduce clutter and are easy to integrate into existing cable arrangements without adding significant bulk.

Suitable for

• Extending a USB 3.0 Type-A cable to reach a remote device
• Temporarily joining two Type-A cables when a longer cable is needed
• Connecting USB peripherals that use Type-A connectors in home or office environments
• Testing or troubleshooting USB connections during setup or maintenance

Key specifications

• Connector type: USB 3.0 Type-A female to USB 3.0 Type-A female
• Maximum data transfer rate: up to 5 Gbps (USB 3.0 SuperSpeed)
• Backward compatibility: USB 2.0 and USB 1.1
• Cable color: white
• Form factor: compact, flexible adapter cable

How to use

Insert a USB 3.0 Type-A male connector from the source cable or device into one female end of the adapter, and insert the male connector of the target cable or device into the other female end. Verify that both connected cables and devices support USB 3.0 to achieve maximum transfer speeds. For backward-compatible connections, the adapter will negotiate the highest mutually supported USB version automatically. Avoid forcing connectors and make sure the orientation of Type-A plugs matches the female ports before insertion.

Recommendations

Use the adapter for short-term extensions and temporary joins rather than as a permanent inline cable. For sustained high-speed transfers, minimize the number of adapters and cable joins in the data path and ensure all components (host, device and cables) are rated for USB 3.0 to maintain optimal performance.
