WIHA (1012)

VDE certification confirms that every WIHA tool has been individually tested by the VDE Institute — it withstands a test voltage of 10,000 V and is approved for safe use up to 1,000 V AC / 1,500 V DC. This is the recognised standard for tools used on live installations. A VDE-certified WIHA screwdriver or case such as the XL 2 46816 is not merely an "insulated" tool — it counts as personal protective equipment (PPE) under occupational safety regulations.

WIHA SoftFinish screwdrivers feature a two-zone handle: the hard inner core transmits maximum torque to the screw, while the soft outer zone improves comfort and noticeably reduces hand fatigue during repetitive work. Many models (Wiha 45833, 45795) have a magnetic tip in Phillips, slotted or Torx that holds screws securely on the bit. Conventional screwdrivers usually use a simple hard plastic handle without these ergonomic and functional improvements.
