Cable adapter ShiverPeaks BS69051

The ShiverPeaks BS69051 Cable Gender Changer combines a Toslink optical connector and a 3.5 mm connector in a compact adapter designed for audio signal conversion between digital optical and mini-jack interfaces. Finished in black with gold-plated contacts, this adapter is intended to ensure reliable connections and reduced signal loss when linking devices that use different audio ports.

Advantages

This cable gender changer provides secure contact through gold-plated terminals, which helps maintain consistent signal transfer and resist corrosion over time. Its compact form factor makes it easy to fit into crowded AV setups and portable audio systems. The black casing offers a neutral appearance that integrates with most audio equipment without drawing attention.

Suitable for

• Connecting a device with a Toslink optical output to equipment requiring a 3.5 mm input (when used with compatible converters or hybrid ports)
• Adapting portable audio players, soundbars, or AV receivers with mismatched audio ports
• Temporary connections in home theater, desktop audio, or multimedia setups

Key specifications

• Connector types: Toslink optical connector and 3.5 mm mini-jack connector
• Contact plating: gold-plated contacts for improved conductivity and corrosion resistance
• Colour: black housing
• Form factor: compact inline adapter designed for minimal space usage

How to use

Insert the Toslink plug into the optical output of the source device until it seats securely, then connect the 3.5 mm plug to the target device’s input or to an intermediary converter if required. Ensure both devices are powered off when making connections to avoid unexpected audio behavior. After connecting, power on the devices and select the appropriate input on the receiving device.

Recommendations

Use the adapter only with compatible ports and, where necessary, with active converters that match optical-to-analogue conversion requirements. Avoid bending or stressing connectors; for long-term installations consider securing the adapter to prevent strain on cables and ports.
