Camera lens Panasonic H-NS043E MILC Black

The Panasonic H-NS043E (Leica DG Nocticron) is a fast Micro Four Thirds interchangeable lens with an F1.2 maximum aperture and a 42.5 mm focal length (equivalent to 85 mm on a 35 mm camera). Designed for portrait and low-light photography, the lens combines a 14/11 optical construction, Nano Surface Coating to reduce ghosting and flare, and built-in POWER O.I.S. for stabilized handheld shooting. A 0.5 m closest focusing distance and compact 76.8 mm length make it suitable for versatile use on MILC bodies with Micro Four Thirds mount.

Advantages

The high-speed F1.2 aperture provides strong subject isolation and smooth background bokeh with a 9-blade rounded diaphragm. Nano Surface Coating minimizes reflections across the visible spectrum for clearer contrast and reduced ghosting. Built-in POWER O.I.S. compensates for both small, fast and larger, slower camera movements, improving sharpness in low-light conditions. A newly developed stepping motor enables smooth and quiet autofocus suitable for both stills and video, while compatibility with LUMIX contrast-detection AF ensures high-precision focusing performance.

Suitable for

• Portrait photography with shallow depth of field
• Low-light and indoor shooting
• Creative shallow-focus and bokeh imaging
• Event and documentary work where quiet AF is needed

Key specifications

• Mount: Micro Four Thirds (MFT)
• Focal length: 42.5 mm (equivalent to 85 mm on 35 mm)
• Maximum aperture: F1.2
• Minimum aperture: F16
• Optical construction: 14 elements / 11 groups
• Diaphragm blades: 9 (rounded)
• Closest focusing distance: 0.5 m
• Maximum magnification: 0.1x
• Filter size: 67 mm
• Length: 76.8 mm
• Weight: 0.425 kg

How to use

Mount the lens on a Micro Four Thirds camera body until it locks. Use the wide F1.2 aperture to achieve shallow depth of field for portraits; stop down as needed up to F16 for greater depth of field. Rely on the built-in POWER O.I.S. when shooting handheld in low light and enable the camera's image stabilization if available. For video and quiet focusing, use the lens' stepping motor AF; for precise stills focus, use contrast-detection AF on compatible LUMIX bodies or manual focus via the focus ring when required.

Recommendations

For best portrait results, position the subject a few meters from the background, shoot at or near F1.2–F2.8 to maximize background separation, and use POWER O.I.S. or a tripod when shutter speeds drop below 1/125 s to maintain sharpness.
