Captiva 80277 network cable patch cable CAT 6a RJ45 5m grey

The Captiva 80277 Patch Cable CAT 6a RJ45 5m Grey is a shielded or unshielded twisted-pair network cable built to support high-speed Ethernet connections over a 5-metre distance. It uses RJ45 connectors for plug-and-play compatibility with switches, routers, patch panels and network devices. The cable meets CAT6a performance characteristics for reduced crosstalk and improved signal integrity compared to lower-category cables, making it suitable for demanding LAN environments and structured cabling runs within homes and offices.

Advantages

The cable provides stable high-bandwidth data transfer over 5 metres with the electrical characteristics expected of CAT6a cabling. Its RJ45 connectors ensure wide compatibility with standard network hardware without adapters. The grey outer jacket offers a neutral appearance for professional installations, while the cable's construction is designed for reliable mechanical and electrical performance during regular use.

How to use

Insert one RJ45 connector into the network port of the device and the other into the corresponding port on the router, switch or patch panel. Ensure connectors click into place to confirm a secure connection. Route the cable to avoid tight bends and kinks, and keep it away from strong sources of electrical interference. For multiport installations, label each end as needed for easy identification and maintenance.

Recommendations

For optimal performance, use this CAT6a cable for connections up to 5 metres in typical indoor environments and maintain bend radii greater than four times the cable diameter. Avoid running the cable alongside high-voltage power lines to reduce potential interference. If uncertainty exists about shielding requirements in a specific installation, assess the environment for electromagnetic interference and choose the appropriate cable variant accordingly.
