Cimco 120112 Hand Cable Cutter

The Cimco 120112 hand cable cutter is a compact precision tool engineered for clean, efficient cutting of electrical and communication cables. At 200 mm length and weighing approximately 300 g, this hand cable cutter combines a robust cutting head with an ergonomically shaped black-and-red handle to provide controlled operation and a firm grip during repetitive tasks. Its design focuses on delivering straight, burr-free cuts while minimizing user fatigue in both professional and DIY applications.

Advantages

This hand cable cutter offers precise cutting performance through a hardened cutting edge and a compact head profile that reaches into tight spaces. The ergonomically contoured handle reduces slippage and improves control, while the lightweight construction facilitates extended use without excessive strain. The tool's build quality provides reliable durability for routine electrical, telecom, and general cable work.

Suitable for

• Cutting copper and aluminum insulated cables in electrical installations
• Trimming communication and data cables during network setup and maintenance
• DIY household wiring and small renovation projects
• Workshop and on-site use where precise, single-handed cutting is required

Key specifications

• Overall length: 200 mm
• Weight: approx. 300 g
• Handle: ergonomic black and red grip for secure handling
• Cutting head: compact design for access to confined areas
• Cutting capability: designed for insulated electrical and communication cables

How to use

Position the cable between the cutting blades near the desired cutting point, ensuring the insulated jacket and conductor are aligned for a clean cut. Squeeze the handles firmly and steadily until the blades close completely through the cable. For thicker or multi-core cables, make controlled progressive cuts rather than attempting a single forceful cut to maintain blade integrity and achieve a neat finish. After use, wipe blades clean and store the tool in a dry place to prevent corrosion.

Recommendations

Use appropriate personal protective equipment such as insulated gloves and eye protection when working on live or potentially live circuits. Verify cables are de-energized before cutting and select the correct cutter type for the cable diameter and material to avoid damaging the tool or the conductor.
