Hand Cable Cutter Cimco 12 0168

The Cimco 12 0168 Hand Cable Cutter is designed for crush-free cutting of round copper and aluminium cables with an outside diameter up to 45 mm. It features specially hardened sharp blades for neat cuts, a ratchet mechanism with needle bearing eccentric transmission for low-effort one-handed operation, and ergonomic handles that combine a compact opening width with sufficient length to allow a supporting second hand during higher loads. The movable blade swivels fully and can be unlocked in any position; the handles lock via a rotary knob and the cutting blade can be opened easily using a safety catch that locks in the open position. Tool weight: 980 g.

Advantages

Sharp, specially hardened blades provide precise, crush-free cuts on copper and aluminium conductors. The ratchet mechanism with needle bearing eccentric transmission reduces force required, enabling one-handed use despite the compact size. Ergonomic handles with a narrow opening width improve access in confined spaces while their length allows temporary two-hand support when needed. The movable blade is fully swivelling and lockable in any position for controlled cutting. Integrated handle lock and safety catch for the blade increase handling safety and storage convenience.

Suitable for

• Cutting round copper cables up to 45 mm outer diameter
• Cutting round aluminium cables up to 45 mm outer diameter
• Professional electrical installation and maintenance tasks
• On-site and workshop use where crush-free cable cuts are required

How to use

Position the cable centrally between the blades and operate the ratchet handles in repeated short strokes until the cable is cut cleanly. If greater support is required during the cut, use the second hand on the handle to stabilise the tool. Unlock the movable blade via the rotary knob to open or adjust its position; the blade can be unlocked in any position for controlled cutting. Use the safety catch to lock the blade open for safe storage or inspection. Do not attempt to cut steel wire, steel-reinforced cables, or hard-drawn copper conductors.

Recommendations

Regularly inspect the cutting blades for wear and ensure the ratchet mechanism and rotary lock are clean and lubricated for smooth operation. Store the cutter with the blade locked in the closed or open position using the safety catch to prevent accidental movement.
