Cimco 120410 Pipe Shears

The Cimco 120410 pipe scissors are a handheld cutting tool designed for clean, accurate cuts in a range of pipe materials. Constructed with durable steel blades and a shaped plastic handle, these pipe scissors combine mechanical strength with user comfort to support routine cutting tasks on-site or in a workshop. The design emphasizes straight, repeatable cuts and a compact form factor for use in confined spaces.

Advantages

Steel cutting blades provide long-lasting sharpness and resistance to deformation under load. The ergonomic plastic handle offers a secure grip and reduces hand fatigue during repeated use. The compact, manual mechanism requires no power source, allowing portable use in locations without electricity and simple maintenance compared with powered cutters.

Suitable for

• Cutting plastic and soft metal pipes in plumbing and HVAC installations
• On-site repairs and retrofitting where precise manual cuts are needed
• DIY projects that require controlled, straight pipe cuts

Key specifications

• Blade material: hardened steel for improved edge retention
• Handle material: molded plastic with ergonomic shaping
• Tool type: manual pipe cutting scissors for handheld use
• Intended pipe types: suitable for many non-ferrous and plastic pipe materials
• Size and weight: compact, lightweight design for handling in tight spaces

How to use

Position the pipe within the scissors’ cutting area, aligning the desired cutting mark with the blade. Apply steady pressure to close the blades completely through the pipe wall, maintaining a perpendicular angle to achieve a straight cut. For thicker materials, make incremental cuts if necessary rather than forcing a single pass. After cutting, inspect the pipe end and deburr if required to ensure a clean mating surface for fittings.

Recommendations

Use appropriate personal protective equipment such as safety glasses and gloves when cutting. Select a cutting position that keeps hands clear of the blade path and support long lengths of pipe to avoid binding. Regularly check the blade condition and replace or sharpen if signs of wear appear to maintain cutting quality.
