Dahua Technology DHI-ASI1202M Smart Access Control Reader

The Dahua Technology DHI-ASI1202M intelligent access control reader is a compact, weather- and impact-resistant reader designed for secure identification at entry points. Built with a zinc alloy plate and robust protection ratings (IP65, IK10), this reader supports card and fingerprint authentication and can operate with common access-control protocols for integration into existing systems.

Advantages

The device combines fingerprint and card authentication, with support for fingerprint-only, card-only, or card&fingerprint modes. It supports up to 3,000 fingerprints and multiple card types, reads 13.56 MHz cards at 1–3 cm distance, and provides event-driven alarms (duress, tamper, intrusion, door contact timeout, and illegal card overstay). Compatibility with RS-485 and Wiegand protocols ensures straightforward integration with access-control panels.

Suitable for

• Office buildings and corporate entrances
• Secure facilities requiring multi-factor authentication
• Residential complexes and gated communities
• Public buildings with moderate environmental exposure (outdoor sheltered entrances)
• Access-control systems needing RS-485 or Wiegand devices

How to use

Install the DHI-ASI1202M at the desired entry point following manufacturer mounting guidelines and connect it to the access-control panel using RS-485 or Wiegand protocol as supported by your system. Enroll users by registering fingerprints and issuing cards according to your site’s access levels. Configure operational mode (card, fingerprint, or card & fingerprint) and set alarm parameters in the management software or controller before placing the reader into service.

Recommendations

Place the reader in a sheltered location if used outdoors to prolong lifespan despite its IP65/IK10 ratings; maintain card reading within 1–3 cm and keep finger sensor clean for reliable recognition. Regularly back up enrolled templates and audit alarm logs through the access-control system.
