Dahua Technology DHI-ASR2101A Access Control Reader Basic access control reader

The DAHUA DHI-ASR2101A is a compact access control reader designed for basic entry management in small to medium installations. It operates from a 12V DC supply with a typical current draw of 0.5A and nominal power consumption of 0.9W. The reader's slim housing (86×15×123 mm) is suitable for mounting at doors, gates or turnstiles where a reliable, low-power reader is required.

Advantages

The reader offers a low power consumption design and a compact form factor that simplifies installation in constrained spaces. Its standard 12V DC power supply requirement makes it compatible with common access control system power sources. The device construction is intended for straightforward integration into small and medium control setups.

Suitable for

• Single-door access points in offices or retail
• Gates and turnstiles with limited mounting depth
• Small to medium-sized access control systems

Key specifications

• Operating voltage: 12V DC
• Typical current consumption: 0.5A
• Nominal power consumption: 0.9W
• Operating temperature range: −30°C to +70°C
• Dimensions (W×D×H): 86×15×123 mm

How to use

Mount the reader at the chosen entry point ensuring the surface and depth accommodate the unit's 86×15×123 mm dimensions. Connect to a stable 12V DC power source capable of supplying at least 0.5A, and integrate the reader with the access control panel following the system manufacturer's wiring and configuration guidelines. After installation, verify power and communication, then test typical credential read and door-release operations.

Recommendations

Use a regulated 12V DC power supply sized to provide reliable current; avoid long unshielded power runs. Install the reader in locations protected from extreme mechanical impact and direct exposure to weather if the installation environment does not meet the device's operating temperature limits.
