dBTechnologies OPERA 15 Active Speaker, 15 inch

The dBTechnologies OPERA 15 is a 15" active speaker engineered for professional audio applications. It combines a high-power amplification stage with advanced on-board digital signal processing to deliver clear, dynamic sound suitable for live sound reinforcement, fixed installations and mobile setups. The enclosure and lightweight design support easier transport and quick deployment while the built-in DSP optimizes frequency response and protects the transducers under demanding use.

Advantages

The speaker provides a continuous and peak power handling profile that supports loud, distortion-controlled output for vocals and instruments. Integrated DSP presets and protection circuits simplify setup and preserve audio fidelity across volume levels. The 15" low-frequency driver delivers extended bass response while the high-frequency section ensures intelligible mid and treble reproduction. Versatile input and output connectivity enables flexible signal routing without external processing.

Suitable for

• Small to medium live music performances and bands
• DJ sets and club environments
• Corporate events, presentations and conferences
• Portable PA for rental companies and mobile operators
• Permanent audio installations in bars, restaurants and multipurpose venues

Key specifications

• Driver configuration: 15" low-frequency driver and high-frequency compression driver
• Nominal power output: 1000 W (amplification architecture providing peak output for dynamic performance)
• Built-in digital signal processing: presets, crossover, EQ and protection
• Frequency response: wide-range coverage suitable for vocals and instruments
• Enclosure: portable, lightweight construction for transport and mounting
• Connectivity: balanced and unbalanced inputs and outputs for versatile integration
• Mounting options: pole socket and rigging points for installation and flown configurations

How to use

Place the OPERA 15 on a speaker pole, stand, or secure it in a fixed installation location. Connect the mixer or audio source using the appropriate balanced inputs, and use the speaker outputs to feed additional cabinets or monitors if required. Select the DSP preset that matches the application (live, monitor, or installed use) and adjust level and EQ controls to achieve the desired tonal balance. Monitor the system at moderate levels during initial setup and increase volume while checking for distortion or clipping indicators.

Recommendations

For reliable performance, allow the speaker adequate ventilation, avoid placing it directly against reflective surfaces that colour the sound, and use compatible stands or rigging hardware rated for the cabinet weight. When deploying the OPERA 15 for low-frequency-heavy content or large audiences, pair it with a dedicated subwoofer to extend the low end and reduce distortion at high SPL.
