Dexlan 272928 Keystone Module Flat Grey RJ-45

The Dexlan 272928 Flat Grey RJ-45 keystone module is a compact, low-profile network connector designed for installation in keystone wall plates and patch panels. Its flat construction and neutral grey finish allow it to blend into residential and commercial installations while providing a standard RJ-45 outlet for Ethernet connections. The module supports typical twisted-pair cabling and is intended to facilitate neat, modular network terminations where space and appearance matter.

Advantages

The flat design reduces protrusion from wall plates and faceplates, enabling a cleaner appearance and better fit in shallow mounting environments. Constructed to accept standard RJ-45 plugs, the module provides reliable data connectivity for Ethernet devices. Its neutral grey colour is suitable for mixed cabling environments and minimizes visual contrast with most plates and panels. The keystone format allows quick snap-in installation and straightforward replacement or reconfiguration without changing the surrounding plate or panel.

How to use

To install, prepare the Ethernet cable by stripping the outer jacket and arranging the conductors according to the chosen wiring standard (T568A or T568B). Insert each conductor into the appropriate termination point on the module and use a suitable punch-down or termination tool if required by the module design. Snap the keystone module into the compatible wall plate or patch panel until it locks into place. Connect a standard RJ-45 patch cable to the front-facing jack to link network devices. For replacement, remove the module by releasing the snap tabs and withdraw it from the plate or panel.

Recommendations

Ensure termination is performed with correct wiring colour order and verify continuity with a cable tester after installation. Use the module with cabling rated for the target network speed and environment; limit stress on the cable and avoid sharp bends near the termination to maintain performance.
