Internal RAID Riser Module FUJITSU PY-PREM03 for Server Expansion

The FUJITSU PY-PREM03 internal RAID riser module is an add-on card designed to expand RAID controller capabilities in compatible Fujitsu server platforms. Installed as a PCIe form-factor riser, this module enables additional RAID functionality to support storage management, redundancy, and improved fault tolerance in enterprise and data center environments. The module is targeted at technicians and system integrators performing server maintenance or upgrades and integrates with existing server chassis and backplanes designed for Fujitsu components.

Advantages

This riser module delivers a compact method to add RAID functionality without replacing the main server board. It helps increase storage resilience through RAID levels supported by the installed controller, reduces downtime by enabling hardware-based redundancy, and preserves rack space by using the internal PCIe riser form factor. The design ensures compatibility with Fujitsu server architectures where internal expansion slots are available.

Suitable for

• Upgrading server storage redundancy and fault tolerance
• Adding RAID controller capabilities to compatible Fujitsu servers
• Enterprise and data center server maintenance and expansion
• System integrators assembling or refurbishing server hardware

Key specifications

• Form factor: internal PCIe riser card designed for server installation
• Function: provides RAID controller expansion and related connectivity
• Compatibility: intended for use with compatible Fujitsu server platforms and chassis that support internal riser modules
• Primary use: hardware RAID support to improve storage management and redundancy
• Installation location: internal server expansion slot / riser bay

How to use

Power down the server and follow the manufacturer's service manual for safe access to the internal expansion area. Remove the appropriate blank or existing riser, align the FUJITSU PY-PREM03 module with the internal PCIe connector and secure it according to the server chassis instructions. Reconnect any necessary cables to the RAID module and close the chassis. After powering on, verify hardware detection in the server firmware or management controller and install any required drivers or firmware updates recommended by the server vendor to enable full RAID functionality.

Recommendations

Use the riser module only in supported Fujitsu servers and follow static-discharge precautions during installation. Confirm firmware and driver compatibility with your server OS and storage configuration before deploying in production environments. Regularly monitor RAID health through the server management tools and schedule backups to protect data in case of drive or controller failures.
