Gembird AUS3-02 Interface Card

The Gembird AUS3-02 is an interface card designed to provide SuperSpeed USB 3.0 access for 2.5" SATA HDDs and SSDs. Based on the JMS578 chipset, this compact black adapter supports Seagate GoFlex (long connector) and enables transfer rates up to ten times faster than USB 2.0, while accommodating drives of any capacity. Its small form factor and straightforward installation make it suitable for adding high-speed external connectivity to compatible systems.

Advantages

The adapter delivers SuperSpeed USB 3.0 performance, offering significantly faster data transfers compared with USB 2.0. Compatibility with Seagate GoFlex (long connector) broadens its use with existing drive enclosures. The JMS578 chipset provides reliable bridging between SATA 2.5" drives and USB hosts, and the compact black housing (79 × 37 × 14 mm) keeps installation space minimal.

Suitable for

• Connecting 2.5" SATA HDDs and SSDs to a USB 3.0 port
• Quick data migration and backup tasks
• Accessing drives from Seagate GoFlex enclosures with a long connector
• Portable diagnostics and drive cloning

How to use

Install the 2.5" SATA drive into the adapter ensuring the SATA connector aligns with the board, then secure the drive according to the enclosure or mounting method you are using. Connect the adapter to a host computer using a USB 3.0 cable; the host should recognize the drive automatically and install drivers if required. For best transfer speeds, plug the adapter into a USB 3.0 port on the computer.

Recommendations

Use a USB 3.0-certified cable and a host port that supports SuperSpeed to achieve optimal transfer rates. Handle drives and the adapter on an anti-static surface and avoid excessive force when connecting or removing drives. For long-term storage or frequent use, ensure adequate ventilation and secure mounting to prevent drive movement.
