Hager EEN002 Flush-Mounted Light Sensor for Twilight Switch

Outdoor lighting that stays on all day wastes energy and shortens lamp life. The Hager EEN002 flush-mount light sensor solves this by detecting ambient light and signalling your twilight switch to turn lights on only when darkness falls. It is a compact, weather-resistant sensor designed for recessed installation in walls, ceilings, or outdoor fixtures. With a 1.5 m connection cable and 2-wire passive design, it connects directly to the Hager twilight switch EEN002, requiring no separate power supply. The sensor head is IP65-rated for protection against dust and water jets, making it suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. Its UV-resistant plastic housing withstands sun exposure, and it operates reliably across a wide temperature range from -30 °C to +70 °C. The black sensor head has a mounting diameter of 13.5 mm, allowing discreet integration into building structures.

Who is it for

Electricians and building automation professionals installing Hager twilight switches in residential or commercial properties. It is ideal for controlling outdoor lighting, signage, or any application where automatic dusk-to-dawn operation is required without manual intervention.

Tips

Install the sensor head in a location that receives unobstructed daylight but is not directly exposed to artificial light sources, as this can affect switching accuracy. Ensure the mounting hole is clean and deburred to avoid damaging the sensor body. For outdoor use, position the sensor head downward or shielded from direct rain where possible, despite its IP65 rating.
