Light Sensor Switch Steinel NightMatic 3000 White (Model 550615)

The Steinel NightMatic 3000 White is a dusk-to-dawn light sensor switch designed to control lighting automatically according to ambient brightness. It turns connected lights on at dusk and off at dawn, providing simple automatic control for outdoor and indoor lighting circuits where reliable night-time switching is required. The compact white housing is intended for unobtrusive installation and wired integration into existing lighting circuits.

Advantages

The NightMatic 3000 senses ambient light and switches loads without manual intervention, reducing the need for routine operation and lowering energy consumption. Its straightforward functionality simplifies wiring and setup in standard lighting circuits. The device is designed for continuous operation and provides consistent performance across seasonal changes in daylight. The neutral white finish integrates with common outdoor and indoor fixtures without drawing attention.

Key specifications

• Operating principle: ambient light (dusk/dawn) sensor
• Function: automatic ON at dusk, OFF at dawn
• Color/finish: white housing
• Installation type: inline/wired installation into lighting circuit
• Suitable mounting: outdoor and indoor use when placed/installed according to environmental requirements
• Power switching: designed to switch lighting loads (observe connected lamp type and power limits)

How to use

Install the NightMatic 3000 in the lighting circuit following electrical safety standards and local regulations. Position the sensor so it receives representative ambient light levels and is not shaded by structures or fixtures. Connect the input and output conductors to the corresponding terminals, ensuring power is disconnected during installation. After wiring, restore power and allow the sensor to adapt to current light conditions; it will switch the load automatically at the configured dusk and dawn thresholds.

Recommendations

Place the sensor where it measures ambient light without direct illumination from the controlled lamp. Verify compatibility with the lamp type and total load to avoid overloading the switch. For outdoor installations, ensure the unit is mounted where it is protected from splash and direct water ingress according to applicable installation guidelines.
