Helos 014108 Cable Gender Changer

The Helos 014108 cable gender changer is a compact adapter with two 8P8C connectors that enables direct connection between compatible network or telecommunication cables and devices. Designed in black ABS housing, it provides a simple mechanical solution for reversing connector gender without altering signal paths. The adapter is intended for inline use when converting plug-to-plug or jack-to-jack interfaces during temporary setups, repairs, or equipment reconfiguration.

Advantages

The gender changer offers a straightforward, low-profile connection that preserves wiring order and signal continuity. Its 8P8C contacts are arranged to maintain standard pinout alignment and the black housing delivers a discreet, professional appearance while protecting the contacts from dust and mechanical stress. The small footprint allows installation in tight spaces where longer patch cords or adapters would be impractical.

Suitable for

• Connecting two cables or devices with 8P8C (RJ45) terminations
• Temporary networking setups and field repairs
• Telecommunications equipment reconfiguration and testing
• Patching in tight racks or confined cable management areas

Key specifications

• Connector type: 8P8C to 8P8C
• Housing colour: Black
• Form factor: Inline gender changer
• Contact arrangement: Standard 8-conductor pinout alignment
• Typical use: Networking and telecommunications interfaces

How to use

Align the 8P8C plug of the cable or device with one end of the Helos 014108 gender changer and insert until the connector latches. Insert the second 8P8C plug into the opposite end in the same manner. Ensure both connections are fully seated to maintain reliable electrical contact. Use the adapter only in environments that match the cable category and signal requirements of connected equipment to avoid performance limitations imposed by inline mechanical adapters.

Recommendations

For best results, use the gender changer for temporary or low-latency non-critical links and avoid using it as a permanent replacement for properly terminated cables. Verify cable category compatibility and inspect connectors for damage or contamination before use. If long-term or high-performance connections are required, prefer a dedicated patch cable with appropriate shielding and category rating.
