iFixit EU145101 Opening Tool

The iFixit EU145101 is a set of two credit card–sized plastic opening cards designed for safely prying open electronic devices and separating components. Made from durable plastic, these slim cards slide between parts to undo clips, gently pry housings, and perform light scraping or spreading tasks during repair work.

Advantages

These opening cards are thin yet sturdy, reducing the risk of damage to delicate plastic clips and screens. Their credit card form factor makes them easy to store and handle, while the smooth edges allow controlled prying and scraping. The set of two provides a backup or allows working on multiple separation points simultaneously.

Suitable for

• Opening smartphones and tablets
• Separating laptop bezels and plastic housings
• Undoing internal clips and connectors
• Spreading thermal paste and delicate scraping tasks

Recommendations

Use the cards on powered-off devices and, when possible, remove batteries or disconnect power sources before opening. Avoid excessive force near fragile components such as displays or ribbon cables. Clean the cards after use to remove residue before storing.
