InLine PS/2 Cable, Plug/Plug, Grey with Violet Plug, 2m

The InLine PS/2 Cable male/male grey with purple plug 2m is a 2 metre connection cable designed to link devices that use PS/2 ports. It has male PS/2 connectors on both ends and a flexible insulated lead in beige that supports standard keyboard and mouse data lines. The cable is intended for straightforward point-to-point replacement or extension where legacy PS/2 connections are required, providing a secure mechanical fit and stable signal transfer for everyday use.

Advantages

The cable provides a simple and compatible solution for connecting PS/2 keyboards and mice to host systems, with a 2 m length that allows comfortable placement of peripherals. Its male-to-male configuration eliminates the need for adapters when connecting typical PS/2 ports. The beige insulated jacket with a purple-coloured plug helps identify the keyboard/mouse connection and the connectors are built for repeated insertion cycles to ensure durability in routine use.

Suitable for

• Connecting PS/2 keyboards to desktop computers or KVM switches
• Connecting PS/2 mice where a direct male/male lead is needed
• Replacing or extending existing short PS/2 cables in offices and home setups
• Use with legacy hardware that requires wired PS/2 interface

Key specifications

• Cable length: 2 m
• Connector type: PS/2 male on both ends
• Plug colour: purple
• Cable colour: beige
• Intended signal: keyboard/mouse PS/2 data lines

How to use

Insert each PS/2 male connector gently into the corresponding PS/2 female port on the computer and the peripheral until it seats securely. Ensure the connector orientation matches the port alignment to avoid bending pins. If connecting through a KVM switch or extension, follow the device manufacturer’s instructions for port assignment. When disconnecting, pull the connector straight out without twisting to protect the pins and connector housing.

Recommendations

For reliable operation, route the cable away from sources of strong electromagnetic interference and avoid tight bends that could damage the internal conductors. Store the cable coiled loosely and avoid excessive tension on the connectors. If a device supports both PS/2 and USB, verify the required interface before connecting.
