Inter-Tech SMA-6409 Wall-Mount Rack

The Inter-Tech SMA-6409 wall mounted rack is a compact 9U cabinet with a depth of 450 mm, designed for mounting on walls where space is limited. Constructed from steel with a material thickness of 1.25–1.50 mm and finished in RAL 9005 (black), the rack supports up to 30 kg of equipment, complies with IP20 protection and includes a keyed lock for basic security. The front door is made of tempered glass and the side panels are removable to ease installation and maintenance. Cable inlets in the top and bottom allow organised cable routing, and two optional 120 mm fans can be installed in the lid for additional ventilation.

Advantages

The SMA-6409 offers a space-saving alternative to floor-standing server and network cabinets thanks to its low 9U height and shallow 450 mm depth. Its steel construction with 1.25–1.50 mm thickness provides a stable mounting platform for networking or AV equipment up to 30 kg. The tempered glass front door combined with removable side panels simplifies access while maintaining a tidy appearance. IP20 protection makes it suitable for indoor installations, and factory powdercoating in RAL 9005 provides a durable black finish.

Suitable for

• Small server or network equipment installations in offices or server rooms
• Patch panels, switches and small UPS units
• AV equipment mounting in meeting rooms or control stations
• Telecom or network distribution points in commercial or residential buildings

How to use

Mount the rack securely to a suitable load-bearing wall using appropriate anchors and fasteners for the wall material. Remove side panels as needed to route cables and install equipment; use the top and bottom cable inlets for organised entry and exit of cables. Install 19-inch mounting equipment into the 9U vertical rails, observing weight limits and balancing load distribution. If additional ventilation is required, fit up to two 120 mm fans in the lid and connect them to a suitable power source.

Recommendations

Install the Inter-Tech SMA-6409 indoors in dry, dust-moderate environments to maintain IP20 protection; avoid outdoor exposure. Verify wall fixing and load capacity before installation, and distribute equipment weight evenly across the rails. Consider using cable ties and brush grommets for neat cable management and to reduce strain on connectors.
