Notebook Security Cable Navilock 20942 — 15.2 cm Cable for Kensington Lock

Navilock 20942 — 15.2 cm cable for Kensington slot is a compact notebook security cable designed to attach to devices with a Kensington-style security slot. The product offers a short, sturdy cable that connects the locking head to an anchor point, providing a basic physical deterrent against opportunistic theft in public or shared environments. The lock head interfaces with standard Kensington slots and the cable length is suitable for keeping the device secured without excess slack.

Advantages

The short 15.2 cm cable reduces the amount of exposed cable, minimizing tripping hazards and making the lock less obtrusive in tight spaces. The Kensington-compatible locking head enables compatibility with a wide range of notebooks and other portable devices that feature the standardized security slot. The compact design is easy to install and remove, allowing quick securing of a laptop when left unattended for short periods.

Suitable for

• Securing a notebook or laptop on a desk in public areas such as libraries, cafés, or shared offices
• Temporary protection of portable devices in classrooms or meeting rooms
• Attaching a laptop to a fixed anchor point in retail or exhibition spaces

Key specifications

• Cable length: 15.2 cm
• Compatibility: Kensington-style security slot
• Application: Notebook and portable device physical security
• Design: Short, compact cable for minimal slack

How to use

Insert the locking head into the Kensington security slot on the notebook until it engages, then secure the lock according to the lock type (key or combination). Attach the cable end to a stable anchor point such as a desk leg or fixed fixture. Ensure the cable is taut enough to prevent easy removal but does not apply stress to the device housing. Remove the lock by unlocking with the key or entering the combination and then withdraw the locking head from the slot.

Recommendations

Use this short cable as a deterrent for opportunistic theft and for short-term securing of devices. For high-risk locations or unattended long-term storage, consider combining with additional security measures or selecting longer, heavy-duty anchoring solutions. Regularly inspect the cable and locking mechanism for wear and proper function.
