Omnitronic AS-03 foldable microphone absorber system

Omnitronic AS-03 is a foldable microphone absorber system designed to reduce unwanted room reflections and background noise during vocal and instrument recordings or live performances. The portable, collapsible construction allows for quick setup and compact transport, making it a practical choice for studio sessions, rehearsal rooms, streaming, podcasting and on-location recording. The absorber improves the clarity and focus of captured sound by limiting early reflections and ambient bleed around the microphone.

Advantages

The AS-03 combines a lightweight frame with acoustic absorption panels to provide effective reflection control without requiring permanent installation. Its foldable design reduces storage space and simplifies transport. The absorber’s profile is engineered to shield the microphone from lateral and rear reflections, which helps produce a drier, more consistent signal. Materials and construction prioritize ease of use, stable positioning and fast deployment.

How to use

Unfold the absorber and place it behind or around the microphone so that the microphone capsule faces the interior of the absorber. Position the unit at an appropriate distance to balance direct sound and the desired amount of ambience; closer placement increases directivity and reduces room sound. Secure the absorber on a compatible microphone stand or place it on a stable surface. Make small adjustments while monitoring the signal to find the optimal placement for voice or instrument timbre.

Recommendations

For best results, combine the AS-03 with proper microphone choice and positioning: use a cardioid or hypercardioid microphone, angle the capsule toward the sound source, and maintain consistent distance. Avoid placing the absorber too close to reflective surfaces such as glass or bare walls; when recording in very live rooms, consider complementary room treatment to further reduce low-frequency buildup.
