Scheppach DS930 Disc Sander

The Scheppach DS930 sheet sander is a corded oscillating sander designed for a range of surface-preparation tasks. Equipped with a 710 W motor, it delivers up to 2500 RPM and an oscillation rate of 7500 OPM to smooth wood, remove old finishes, and prepare substrates for painting or varnishing. The tool has a 21.5 cm sanding disc diameter and a compact, lightweight body of 4.5 kg, providing stable handling without excessive fatigue during extended use. Its AC power supply and 230 V rating make it suitable for workshop and site power systems.

Advantages

The Scheppach DS930 combines a relatively high motor output with an oscillating action that reduces swirl marks compared with simple rotary sanders. The large 21.5 cm disc covers more surface area per pass, increasing efficiency on broader panels and floors. Its lightweight construction improves maneuverability and makes it easier to keep consistent contact with workpieces. The tool’s electrical rating ensures steady power for demanding sanding tasks.

How to use

Connect the Scheppach DS930 to a suitable 230 V power outlet and ensure the sanding disc is fitted and secured according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Hold the tool with both hands, place the spinning disc lightly on the work surface, and move the sander steadily along the grain for woodwork or in consistent patterns for painted surfaces. Adjust pressure to let the motor and oscillation do the work; excessive force can accelerate abrasive wear and cause uneven results. Replace abrasive discs as they wear to maintain performance and inspect the tool for damage before each use.

Recommendations

Use appropriate grit progression for the task: start with coarser abrasives for material removal and finish with finer grits for a smooth surface. Wear eye, ear and dust protection and use dust extraction or a mask when sanding to reduce airborne particles.
