Preisner FK-KK1 Cable Adapter

The Cable gender changer Preisner FK-KK1 is a compact adapter that converts between two cable connector genders, featuring a female connector and an IEC-style connector with a silver finish. Designed for straightforward inline connection, the adapter provides a practical solution for adapting cable ends during installation or equipment reconfiguration. Its metal finish improves wear resistance and helps maintain a stable electrical contact suitable for audio, video, and signal distribution setups.

Advantages

The device offers a simple, tool-free method to change connector gender and avoid replacing entire cables, reducing downtime during setup. The silver finish enhances mechanical durability and resists corrosion, while the compact form factor keeps the adapter low-profile and easy to route within racks or AV cabinets. Construction focuses on reliable contact and consistent signal transfer for common domestic and professional applications.

How to use

Insert the matching male connector of the source cable into the female end of the adapter and connect the IEC-style end to the corresponding female inlet on the target device or cable. Ensure connectors are aligned and fully seated to secure a stable electrical connection. No additional tools are required; for installations in equipment racks, route the adapter so it does not place undue strain on cable terminations.

Recommendations

Use the adapter in dry, indoor environments and avoid exposing it to excessive mechanical stress or corrosive atmospheres. For critical or permanent installations, consider replacing the whole cable assembly with the correct connector configuration to minimise connection points. Inspect contacts periodically and replace the adapter if signs of wear, loose fit, or signal degradation appear.
