FireWire A/B cable DeLOCK 82589 2.0m Grey plug/plug

The DeLOCK FireWire A/B cable (model 82589) is a 2.0 m grey cable with male 4-pin and male 9-pin FireWire connectors, designed to connect devices with a 4-pin FireWire port—such as camcorders or external enclosures—to a computer with a 9-pin FireWire interface. The cable provides a straightforward wired connection for data transfer between compatible audio/video devices and PCs.

Advantages

This cable offers a 2.0 m length for flexible placement, a durable grey jacket for everyday use, and male-to-male FireWire connectors to ensure compatibility between consumer devices (4-pin) and computer ports (9-pin). It is intended for reliable high-speed data transfer where FireWire connections are available.

Suitable for

• Connecting camcorders with a 4-pin FireWire port to a computer with a 9-pin FireWire port
• Linking external enclosures or hard drives that use 4-pin FireWire to PCs
• Transferring audio/video files from legacy FireWire devices to a computer

Key specifications

• Manufacturer: DELOCK
• Model: 82589
• Cable length: 2 m
• Colour: Grey
• Connector types: Male 4-pin to Male 9-pin FireWire (A/B)

How to use

Connect the 4-pin male end of the cable to the FireWire port on your camcorder or external enclosure and plug the 9-pin male end into the FireWire port on your computer. Power on both devices if required. The computer should detect the connected device automatically; follow any on-screen prompts to access files or perform transfers using your operating system's file manager or recording software.

Recommendations

Use the cable with compatible FireWire ports only. Avoid sharp bends and excessive tension on the cable, and disconnect by pulling the connector housing rather than the cable to prolong service life.
