FISCHER 85866 chain lock — security level 7, length 85 cm

Chain lock FISCHER 85866 — security level 7, length 85 cm is a heavy-duty chain lock designed to protect bicycles, scooters and other personal transport and outdoor equipment. With a rated security level 7 and a compact 85 cm length, the lock balances portability and theft resistance for everyday urban use. The chain is constructed to resist common cutting and leverage attacks and pairs with a keyed cylinder to provide reliable mechanical locking.

Advantages

The chain lock offers a high protection rating suitable for medium-high risk environments while remaining compact enough for convenient carrying. Its robust links and reinforced casing enhance resistance to bolt cutters and hand tools, and the keyed lock mechanism delivers consistent locking performance. The 85 cm length allows secure attachment to fixed objects without excessive bulk, making it practical for daily use and short stops.

Key specifications

• Security level: 7 (mechanical rating for theft resistance)
• Chain length: 85 cm
• Construction: heavy-duty steel links with reinforced outer casing
• Lock type: keyed cylinder mechanism
• Weight: designed for a balance of portability and strength (typical for heavy-duty chain locks)

How to use

Thread the chain through the frame and one wheel of the bicycle or around the item to be secured, then wrap it around a fixed, immovable object such as a bike rack or sturdy pole. Insert the chain end into the keyed cylinder and turn the key to lock. Keep the key in a secure place and consider carrying a spare key. When unlocking, insert the key and rotate to release the cylinder, then remove the chain and stow it for transport.

Recommendations

For optimal security, attach the chain so it prevents removing wheels or the frame from the fixed object; combine with additional locks for high-risk locations; avoid leaving valuables unattended for extended periods; store the key separately and inspect the chain regularly for signs of wear or damage.
