iFixit EU145335-1 Electronics Repair Tool Kit, 5 Tools

The iFixit EU145335-1 electronic device repair tool set contains five purpose-built opening tools designed to help safely access and disassemble a variety of electronic devices. The set includes wedge and hook tips and tools made from a tough-yet-soft material to avoid scratching or marring delicate surfaces while providing effective prying and levering action.

Advantages

The custom-designed handles give a secure, non-slip grip for controlled opening force. The material balances stiffness and softness so the tools can pry into tight seams without damaging the workpiece. Two tip shapes — a wedge for breaching and a hook for lifting and levering — provide alternative methods for opening different joints and seams.

Suitable for

• Opening smartphones, tablets and laptops
• Separating display assemblies and bezels
• Accessing internal components for repair or inspection
• Hobby electronics and small appliance disassembly

How to use

Select the tip shape that best fits the seam or joint you need to open. Insert the wedge tip into a small gap and gently pry along the seam, working evenly to avoid concentrated stress. Use the hook tip to lift and lever components where a pulling action is required. Maintain steady control of the handle and avoid excessive force; stop and reassess if resistance is unusually high.

Recommendations

Use these tools on powered-off devices and follow anti-static and manufacturer disassembly guidelines. Combine with appropriate screwdrivers, spudgers, and protective mats for safe, efficient repairs.
