Patch Panel METZ CONNECT 150257BB24-E

The METZ CONNECT 150257BB24-E is a 1U rack-mountable patch panel designed for SC connectors, offering a compact and robust solution for structured cabling in server rooms and communication cabinets. Constructed from aluminium and steel, the unit occupies standard 19-inch rack space and provides clear front access to SC ports while maintaining a shallow depth for installations where space is limited. The panel supports orderly fiber termination and routing, helping to maintain signal integrity and simplify moves, adds and changes.

Advantages

The aluminium and steel construction delivers mechanical stability and corrosion resistance while keeping weight low for easy rack installation. The 1U height conforms to standard rack mounting, enabling predictable stacking and rack planning. Front-access SC connector layout improves accessibility for patching and maintenance, and the compact depth reduces the required rear clearance, making the panel suitable for both full-size racks and shallow enclosures.

Suitable for

• Fiber patching and cross-connects in data centers and telecom rooms
• Telecommunications closets and distribution frames
• Network cabinets with limited rear clearance
• Managed office and campus backbone installations

Key specifications

• Form factor: 1U rack-mount panel for 19-inch racks
• Connector type: SC duplex compatible front panel
• Material: aluminium and steel housing
• Width: 482.6 mm (standard 19-inch)
• Height: 44.5 mm (1U)
• Depth: 242.5 mm

How to use

Mount the patch panel into a standard 19-inch rack using appropriate rack screws and cage nuts. Route incoming and outgoing fiber cables through cable management openings and secure them to strain-relief points as required by your installation practice. Terminate or mate SC connectors at the front panel ports, ensuring connectors are clean and free of debris before insertion. Label ports according to your cabling scheme to simplify future identification and maintenance.

Recommendations

Perform connector cleaning before each connection and use proper fiber bend radius protection. Keep documentation of port assignments and avoid over-tightening mounting hardware. For high-density installations, combine with suitable cable management accessories to maintain clear access and adequate airflow within the rack.
